We are taking part in Jambowlree – World Scout Ten Pin Bowling Competition! Want to have a go at Archery? Fancy improving your skills ahead of the District Archery and Shooting competition? Want to work towards your Master at Arms badge by attending regular training sessions for at least six sessions? Or perhaps just drop in for one or two sessions. We will be doing archery on Saturday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30 at 1st Purley HQ, Purley Park Road, CR8 2BW. £3 per session. Book your sessions now as they are going to be popular. Limited to 12 Scouts per session. As well as games and troop forum, we are also going to be doing an investiture. Hawks have promised to run a couple of games for us. When: Saturday 27 April 2019 Times: either 08:45 to 12:30 or 13:15 to 17:00 Where: Frylands Wood Scout Outdoor Centre, Featherbed Ln, Croydon CR0 9AA Cost: £10 per Scout Welcome to the new district event – archery and shooting competition. This is an event for Scouts of all abilities run over half a day (morning or afternoon). If you are an experienced archer or shooter, perhaps you will score high. If you have not picked up a bow or rifle before, then you will get an opportunity to have a go. District are running three bases – short range archery, long range archery and rifle shooting. The Scouts will rotate between the three bases and will be scored on all three. The Scouts are competing for: Best long range archer Best short range archer Best rifle shooter Best overall Best novice  Fee £10 per Scout (non-refundable). Payment can be made by BACs to our District account, cash or cheque. BACs is our preferred method. Please get in touch for details. Times There are two sessions. Both morning and afternoon sessions are for 36 Scouts each, making a total of 72 Scouts across the whole competition. The morning session starts at 08:45 and finishes at 12:30. The afternoon session starts at 13:15 and finishes at 17:00 The bases are run in turn, so you need to be here at the start time. To be clear – each Scout should attend for either a morning or afternoon. Please eat before you arrive. There is no food available on site. Information forms Please complete Activity_Information_Form and hand in by 13 April 2019.  The Scouts are unable to rifle shoot without the form. Spectators Due to space limitations we are unable to have spectators at this event.
